Uptown Freylekhs is a contemporary Jewish music performance project. It commences a new musical language - a merger of old-world traditional Jewish folklore with modern sonorities.
Founded by internationally acclaimed musicians Pavel Vinnitsky (clarinet) and Anna Vinnitsky (piano) , the project is dedicated to preservation, development and promotion of Jewish music and its representation in the form of new music commissions and innovative programming at world major concert venues by internationally renowned artists.
Uptown Freylekhs presents a variety of concert programs and digital productions based on works composed for the ensemble.
Inspired by intellectually and emotionally charged ancient modes and chants, the projects' purpose is to initiate a personal transformation transcending listeners beyond boundaries. Thus contributing to intercultural unity.
